Moses Neal

Three enormous chunks of Mountsorrel granite…….

These photos were donated by Robert and Maurice Turlington whose great grandfather,Moses Neal appears in all three images.

Moses was  in his late fifties when these photos were taken in 1911. He was a driller and blaster foreman at the quarry and  lived in Hawcliffe Road, probably at No. 25 (Wood View).

  1. Hi, we currently live at 25 Hawcliffe road and the family visited the open day at Tarmac to see into the current quarry.
My husbands grandmother is also a Neal and live in Quorn… not sure if there might be a link there?
It would be lovely to have a copy of these photos to go up in our home to show the history if possible?
Thank you for sharing this information.
