MHG Walks in and around Mountsorrel introduction

Members of the Ecology Sub-group of the Mountsorrel Heritage Group have been out and about, writing up notes on some of their favourite walks in the village. These have been reproduced in the walks, complete with photos (alphabetical) and markers (numerical) on the sketch map to help guide you on your way, and to show you some of the interesting features (hyperlinks) to look out for.

Walks vary in many ways. Some are suitable for all, whereas others include stiles or other features which could present problems to those with mobility problems, or those with pushchairs or prams, and they also vary in length. Most are dog-friendly, but we do advise that pets are kept on a lead when near farm animals or traffic – and always follow the Countryside Code. We have tried to make sure that enough detail is included for potential walkers to make informed decisions about which ones would suit their needs.

At the moment the walks are mostly quite rural, but we hope to add walks which cater for particular interests, such as architecture, transport (by road, rail or water) and public houses. If you have a favourite walk which you would like us to include on the website, please let us know by contacting Chris Berry (MHG Ecology sub-group) Email: chriswberry3259@gmail.com
