Listened to this talk with interest.
My name is Graham Baum and my father was Albert Baum born in1910 and lived until 1928 in Mountsorrel
I was born in 1940 so experienced some of the things said by Stephen Baum including working for a City Treasurer(Birmingham) and I finished my career as Deputy County Treasurer of Gloucestershire. My uncle ,Ellis Baum, was a policeman in Birmingham but then owned a market garden in Quorn.I also have cousins in the area.
I have a family tree going back to 1743 but would like to explore the possibility of going further back. Can you help?
Graham, I believe we are cousins. Your grandfather, William Henry, was a younger brother to my great-grandfather, Charles Edwin Baum, who emigrated to Maine in the U.S. to work in granite quarries.
