Mountsorrel Wildlife Sites 2016 – Mountsorrel Common, Buddon Wood Farm Path and Centenary Wood
At the western side of the village are three linked wildlife areas; Mountsorrel Common, Buddon Wood Farm Path, and Centenary Wood. The Common is heavily overgrown and subject to some vandalism, but remains an interesting and long established habitat. Buddon Wood Farm Path, a new permissive path opened up by Lafarge (now TARMAC), and the path through Centenary Wood and the adjacent new woodland are developing areas that will in the long term be of great benefit to wildlife and the village.
