In 1973, due to lack of leaders, the group amalgamated with Rothley Templars Scout Group to become the Castle Templars Scout Group.
In 1980, Mr. D. Phillips brought Scouting back to Mountsorrel by starting a Cub pack in the Scout Hut. As those Cubs grew older, a Scout troop was formed, led by Mr E Muddimer and assisted by Mr K Foster. As Scouting once again flourished in the village, new leadership emerged in the guise of Mr J Townsend (Scout Leader), Mrs D Loveday (Cub Leader) and Mr B Woodley (Asst Cub Leader and later Cub Leader).
In the mid 1980s a Venture Scout group was started by Mr R Loveday.
To cater for the younger age group, a Beaver colony was started by Mrs S Neal in 1988.

What an amazing archive. Some fantastic footage of my whole family! We were all involved growing up as Dad (John Townsend) was the scout leader, with a fantastic group of leaders/friends and some great events & trips. Some truly wonderful memories and rare video of my mum on camp (Ann Townsend) who sadly passed away in 1994. Thankyou for sharing!
